Playing with Fire is a competition in which two penguins volley a fireball to each other. The penguins are not in danger of getting burned, but the ground they are standing on is made of blocks of ice. Each time a penguin misses a volley and the fireball lands on a block of ice, that block will melt permanently. Players gain points by shooting the fireball into a hole that has been created on the opponent’s side. The goal is to create a hole large enough that the opposing penguin will fall in.
Playing with Fire was a project I worked on during a game jam with Julian Zhou and Ryan Rosenthal.
Each player’s controls can be viewed from the main menu.
